After a 17-year hiatus, the legendary Supra is officially here. Now on its fifth generation, the new Supra is the first model to wear the GR badge, which stands for Toyota Gazoo Racing. This is Toyota’s performance development arm which aims to produce performance oriented vehicles based on its extensive experience in motorsports.
Powering the All-New Toyota GR Supra is a twin-scroll turbocharged, 3.0 in-line six-cylinder engine from BMW, that produces a maximum output of 335 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Thats what Toyota claims; but by now I’m sure everyone has seen all the dyno videos floating around the internet where the Supra makes a lot more power than that. In these videos we're seeing approximately 376 wheel horsepower and 410ft-lbs of torque (556Nm).
Both chassis and body frame are masterfully crafted for a perfect 50:50 front-rear weight ration, giving the GR Supra perfect balance. A great attribute for those track days in the near future.
The All-New Toyota GR Supra is also equipped with Toyota's Adaptive Variable Suspension. Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) employs innovative technology to maximize control, sharpen handling and upgrade ride quality. But, in case you’ve already got your MK V Supra allocation and want to start modding, we've got your covered with the KW Suspension Variant 3 coilover.
The Supra also features a Limited Slip Differential, ventilated disc brakes that hide behind the 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Up front you've got 19x9 +32 with 255/35 and 19x10 with 275/35 in the rears all wrapped in Michelin tires. And in case you want to swap those stock wheels out to give your Supra a more aggressive look, a set of 20inch wheels would fill-up those fenders perfectly. Bolt patterns are now 5x112 instead of the typically Toyota bolt pattern.
The interior looks great with a very European feel to it. It features a Heads Up Display (HUD) plus responsive Paddle Shifters, complemented by 8.8-inch TFT-LCD touch screen display that give you an opportunity to view multiple gauges to monitor your GR Supra's vitals. Your infotainment system also features Bluetooth and USB connectivity thats hooked up to12-speaker High-Fidelity surround sound system powered by JBL. A dash cam to record any potential situation that could occur while driving your Supra and all-weather floor mats to keep your carpets clean would perfectly complete the interior.
And in terms of safety, The All-New Toyota GR Supra has seven (7) SRS airbags, 3-point Pre-tensioner and Force Limiter seatbelts, as well as Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, and Anti-Lock Brake System to ensure you safe while having a blast in your Supra.
