Back when Henry Ford rolled off the first car off his assembly line, HVAC systems was only a dream. He didn’t think about it back then. Fast forward to today where you would have a hard time to find a vehicle that does not come with air conditioning from the showroom floor. In fact, it has become a necessity for everyday #DrivingLife.
Nowadays, HVAC systems include a filter of sorts, a cabin filter, to scrub outside or recirculated air of dust, debris and particulates floating in the air to keep interior air relatively clean. But come 2020, a new kind of filter breaks into the local scene. A cabin filter that puts the quality of the air that you breathe inside your vehicle above everything else. The HippoTech CN95 Cabin Filter.
Vehicles are essentially an extension of your personal space. And you would want that space to be a safe living environment for you and your loved ones. Previously, CN95 filters were OEM items on certain brands and models, allowing the advantage of cleaner cabin air to a handful of individuals.
Enter Hippo Industries, a company that manufactures products that help you maintain the cleanliness of your ride. Under development last year, the need for better air filtration for a wider range of existing vehicles was determined by the guys at Hippo Industries. Not just a handful of vehicles that came from the factory with N95 grade cabin filters.
The HippoTech CN95 Cabin Filters are designed to filter out 95% of the particles and contaminants that are as small as 0.3 micron. Pretty much minute if you ask me. Capable of filtering 98% of PM2.5 particulates, these are minute solid and liquid particles suspended in the air that we breathe. The 2.5 in the PM2.5 nomenclature stands for 2.5 micrometers, that is 25 times thinner than the human hair. These particulars stay suspended in the air longer and can travel into the respiratory tract, penetrating deep into the lungs and even the bloodstream, eventually causing severe health issue in the long run.
Similar to the now common N95 face masks, the CN95 cabin filter is constructed using multiple layers of filtration. As such, the air that blows through the filter is weaker compared to regular cabin filters. Approximately 10-12% less air volume is pushed through, an issue solved by selecting the next higher fan speed. But in actually usage, the reduction of air volume is barely noticeable.
We here at PartsPro.Ph value our client’s well-being, so we carry the complete range of Hippo Industries’ HippoTech CN95 Cabin Filters. With more and more vehicles being added to the list of applications, there is bound to be one cabin filter to suit your application.
