One of the biggest names when it comes to wheels is, of course, the SoCal based wheel company - HRE
HRE is a company that designs, engineers, and manufactures 1-piece, 2-piece, and 3-piece high-end forged aluminum alloy wheels for racing, performance, luxury cars & suv's.
Started back in the ’70s by a gentleman named Gene Howell, HRE began as Howell Racing Enterprises. They started by distributing Hayashi wheels from Japan but soon after began making their own wheels that was mainly targeted towards amateur racing in America.
In the early 90’s they were bought out and that's when they began making a name for themselves.
Today we know HRE for making some of the best wheels on the market. We’ve seen their wheels are some of the most iconic vehicles in the automotive industry. You’ve seen HRE wheels in The Fast & The Furious series, Video games, Drift cars, Race cars, and even OEM wheels for a few Hypercars.
Their TUV certified facility in San Diego California is where all of their forged wheels are made. Whats great about HRE wheels is that they are mostly build-to-order. Meaning you can fully customize your wheels from offsets, widths, and finishes; resulting in a set of wheels is that truly unique to you.
Recently HRE introduced their FlowForm line-up. Giving customers an affordable option but one that still has the HRE build quality. They also introduced the world's first 3D-Printed Titanium wheel the “HRE3D+” which was done in collaboration with GE Additive. The HRE3D+ was a wheel that was tremendously intricate and could have only been achieved through a 3D printing process.
With so many different wheel companies that seem to pop up every year, making something truly unique and special isn’t for everyone. HRE is special in that they are able to make products that are of the highest standards and designs that are truly innovative.
