Audi e-tron GT in here!

Meet the Audi e-tron GT.

In a virtual event held earlier that Audi called a “celebration of progress” Audi showed us their first EV vehicle that isn’t an SUV. The e-tron GT and the RS e-tron is Audi's offering to compete with the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan, and for me, this is the best looking of the three.

In the event, they introduced Marc Lichte, the man responsible for the e-tron’s design. Marc mentioned various aspects of the e-tron that make it special like the gorgeous proportions of the e-tron, the new matrix headlights, the wide hips in the back, and the completely flat bottom but what stood out the most was that the e-tron has a drag coefficient of only 0.2. Which makes the e-tron very slippery and as we know less drag equals longer range for an EV.

The e-tron GT comes standard with adaptive dampers and a limited-slip differential, four-wheel steering is also available which steers the back wheels in the opposite direction of the front at low speeds, making this much much easier to turn in tight spaces.

When it comes to power, the e-tron GT comes with two electric motors, one in the front and one outback. Combined these two electric motors produce 469 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque but in boost mode that power jumps up to 522 hp and 472 lb-ft and for the RS e-tron GT produces 590 hp and 612 lb-ft normally and on boost mode the horsepower number goes up to 637.

The battery on the Audi e-tron GT and the RS model is a 93kWh, which is the same size as the one found in the Taycan S. Audi claims this is good for up to 300 miles of range, it can be charged with an 11kW charger as standard but a 22kW will also be available soon after launch.

Inside The e-tron GT is impressive, but did you expect less from an Audi? It comes standard with power-adjustable seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and the availability of capacitive hands-on detection. A 12.3-inch virtual cockpit along with the 10.1-inch MMI touch display center gives you everything you need to know about the car. A Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system is also there to keep you entertained while you sit inside the e-tron GT.

Now if the e-tron GT sounds a lot like the Porsche Taycan, well it's because it is. As we all know both Audi and Porsche are under the VW brand which means they will inevitably share a lot of the components and tech. But for me, the Audi e-tron GT is far better looking than the Taycan.

Which looks sexier to you, the Tesla, the Porsche Taycan or the Audi e-tron GT?
